fAcILE

FacILE is a tool designed to facilitate the management of ILE applications.  FacILE allows you to create ILE applications with little knowledge of ILE. It tracks the relationships of the programs and allows the user to define compiled objects as programs, modules or service programs. It relieves the user of the many management problems associated with trying to maintain a robust ILE environment such as binder lists, sequence of compiles and object creations, locating objects that need to be recreated when a module is changed.  FacILE contains the following features:
  • Maintains a list of all objects.
  • Allows import of existing source files
  • Handles either RPG IV or ILE RPG
  • Allows the user to drill down or up through client and server relationships
  • Allows object to be defined as Program, Module or Service Program within context of call
  • Insures there is at least one activation group program when recursive calls are encounterd
  • Allows user to map recursive calls
  • Allows user to update source code from the list of object
  • Allows user to stage objects to be created
  • Stages all clients when a related object defined as a module is staged to be recreated.
  • Automatically converts RPG IV source code to ILE
  • Converts source code "CALL" to "CALLB" where required
  • Dynamically generates Binder Lists for program creation
  • Compiles modules and creates programs in proper sequence
